Fear of God, discusses the kind of fear that has been in the center of different kinds of authority figures, throughout history. The fear that sometimes has been created and nurtured, and sometimes even used by those authority figures as an imitation tool. The fear that is makes us fall into line and is the most important tool of obedince.
The sub categories are the following:
- The Fear of God which is the voice of conscience, a personal kind of fear. This is the is also the main fear in monotheistic religions, which is the fear of the believer fearing it's creator.
- The Fear of God which thrives in soceities which are becoming more conservative everyday and are getting trapped by nationalism and tries to justifiy itself by feeling threatenned and is nourished with the fear of losing oneself.
- The Fear of God a shrinking world with a globalised economy. In the Globe, wealth and mind, fear and poverty are strictly related to each other. The world seems to be divided between societies that are based upon fear, and those who are based upon mind (logic). What benefits do the wealthy countries have in tihs equation?
- On the other hand, we have an atheistic rebellion against these fears. What are the strategies and antidotes to the Fear of God?
- It is also possible to read the topic in reverse: The God of Fear (The Lord of Fear): h The media which attacts our communication devices, and makes us scared to leave our houses our make our voice heard.
In this exhibition, there will also be artists from Germany, which will include the different aspects of the topic. Because, the Fear of God exists in all people, but varies in terms of cultural, national and religious differences. This exhibition will feature these different points of view which, we believe, will make the exhibition even more interesting.
